Rajeunir- "Grow Young Again"

Alors que le monde se lève dans la nuit,

Les bruits sourds des passant percent la brume.
Le froid est present et les cheminées fument;
Le temps est gelé mais parait infinis.

Pourtant la nature par un esprit de folie

Songeat a cesser cet excess d’amertume.
Enfin le sourir du soleil se rallume,
Les branches à nouveau sont peuplées de leur nids.

Les traits sur les visages semblent rajeunit;

Lumière et chaleur se joignent par courtoisie
aux bouquets épicés des fleurs qui parfument.

Si bientot reviendra la saison des rhumes,

La periode des effrois et des pluies en volumes,
La joie garde son cap vers la saison fantaisie

Written in Alexandrine (12-syllable iambic line)

As the world rises in the night,

 The deaf noises of passersby pierce the mist.
 The cold is present and the chimneys smoke;
 Time is frozen but seems infinite.

 Yet nature by a spirit of madness

 Thought to stop this excess of bitterness.
 Finally, the smile of the sun comes back on,
 The branches are again populated with their nests.

 The smile on their faces seems to be getting younger;

 Light and warmth come together as a courtesy
 with spicy bouquets of fragrant flowers.

 If soon the cold season will return,

 The period of the scares and the rains in volumes,
 Joy keeps its course towards the fantasy season.

  1. woh, I can't believe you wrote a poem in french. Whats more incredible, is that the english version sounds good too. I don't want to offer any suggestions yet because I don't want to change a translation...I can't wait to hear what you explain in workshop.

  2. Its so impressive that you wrote this poem in French. I really admire how committed you are, putting yourself out there in your poetry. It;s inspiring. I seems strange to comment on the content that is not the original translation but I'll give it a try.
    I love the line "deaf noises pierce the night" the contradictions enhance what you mean by noise. Nighttime is dynamic and can be touched by something that is unseeable.
    Great job!
